New Demo is a Hit

Greets All,
So here is my inaugural post. Of course it comes as a review of a demo - "Tomb Raider : Legend" from Eidos Interactive. I was "prompted" (which means "commanded" in wife-speak) to post this review. It was a good idea, so I did. =)

Here is my review:

Tomb Raider: Legend

Liked:
Graphics were awesome, and the environments were grand. Breathtaking scenery, too. Not the comment I would usually make about a video game, but when the shoe fits...
I liked the camera rotating after I moved Laura, but it was really slow until I adjusted the mouse sensitivity.
An honorable mention about the main character - Lara. Nice... uh... rendering. Heh heh. Yeah.

Disliked:
The controls were awkward to learn, and there didn't seem to be any way to really customize the interface. I didn't think there were enough "in-game" tips or even directions. You start out by standing on a ledge, with no clear indication of where to go next. You will eventually figure it out, but if you were new to 3rd-Person gaming, this would take an unnecessary length of time.
The combat interface was (like many oif the other features) slow and sluggish, but once you get the hang of the (expected) combat style, it isn't quite so bad.

Overall:
I liked it. Great graphics, smooth interface, and (so far) interesting story-line make for an involved experienced. I think the full version may have a solution for the little things that I didn't like (lack of customizability, sluggish interface, etc.) and I am certain that to really enjoy the game I will need to boost my system specs, particularly video.

You can view the site and download the demo HERE. It is a large download (509MB) so be prepared if you have a slow connection.

Perhaps I will make this a regular feature of my posts - some reviews. Thoughts? Leave a comment and let me know. OK?

L8r All,
~ Scott
