Greets All,
So here is my inaugural post. Of course it comes as a review of a demo - "Tomb Raider : Legend" from Eidos Interactive. I was "prompted" (which means "commanded" in wife-speak) to post this review. It was a good idea, so I did. =)
Here is my review:
Tomb Raider: Legend
Liked:
Graphics were awesome, and the environments were grand. Breathtaking scenery, too. Not the comment I would usually make about a video game, but when the shoe fits...
I liked the camera rotating after I moved Laura, but it was really slow until I adjusted the mouse sensitivity.
An honorable mention about the main character - Lara. Nice... uh... rendering. Heh heh. Yeah.
Disliked:
The controls were awkward to learn, and there didn't seem to be any way to really customize the interface. I didn't think there were enough "in-game" tips or even directions. You start out by standing on a ledge, with no clear indication of where to go next. You will eventually figure it out, but if you were new to 3rd-Person gaming, this would take an unnecessary length of time.
The combat interface was (like many oif the other features) slow and sluggish, but once you get the hang of the (expected) combat style, it isn't quite so bad.
Overall:
I liked it. Great graphics, smooth interface, and (so far) interesting story-line make for an involved experienced. I think the full version may have a solution for the little things that I didn't like (lack of customizability, sluggish interface, etc.) and I am certain that to really enjoy the game I will need to boost my system specs, particularly video.
You can view the site and download the demo HERE. It is a large download (509MB) so be prepared if you have a slow connection.
Perhaps I will make this a regular feature of my posts - some reviews. Thoughts? Leave a comment and let me know. OK?

It's official
I am in love with Lanthala as much as I was with Vebjorg. I am finally getting all the cool rogue abilities and getting some better weapons with which to do damage. And, thanks to Scott, it has been pointed out to me I can Ambush while the enemy is in battle. I hadn't clued into that before. Woot!
So we finally made it into Ashenvale and cleared off a few quests there. Of course, clearing off those quests sent us into Stonetalon Mountains. So, two more maps are cleared off. And doing those quests sent us up two more levels. Very, very cool.
I was getting a tad frustrated that I wasn't finding the poisons quest, though. I should get it at 20th lvl, and it just wasn't happening. After logging off last night I perused Thottbot and discovered that I am not getting the quest because I am not on the right continent. Gah!!! You would think that a trainer or someone would quest you to go over there to get it, but no. I need to check out the SI:7 headquarters and get it from there. Oh, well. I have the flight paths now to get there, but it is a pain since all but 2 quests I have are in Kalimdor. Arg. But I love using poisons, so it will be worth it.
In other news, Shamue has now gone through WC, and got some pretty new clothes and xp. She is now up to 19th level. And stocked with plenty of gold for all the training that comes with 20th. I did have a quest with her that gives me a fantastic staff, which I can't use until 20th. My issue is that the staff does twice the dmg of the mace, but it is two-handed. Which means, I lose my 413 shield. Does the shield make a huge difference? I have no idea if I should switch or not, or if I should sell the darn thing and go to AH to get a better mace.
And, of course, true to form, I started a new character. All the other great characters are on Darkspeare, and I am tired of not having a rogue there. So, let me introduce Kaewhy, an undead rogue. I went with undead since I don't really know the quests there, and I wanted a change. We will see how that goes.

Ooops.
*blush* It has been pointed out no one except those with blogger accounts could comment on this blog. That has been fixed. Oops. Comment away and without abandon!

Detailed character info
So while surfing a number of other WoW blogs, I discovered a site that we can upload our character info with very little work. RPG Outfitter has a character profiler that now contains all our characters.
And so...
Lanthala
Shamue
Alayka
Morganna
Scott's characters are coming....

More characters
If you are on dial-up you may want to skip this post. :) It is a tad photo-heavy.
My newest favourite character (a rogue, who-da-thunk-it?), Lanthala, night elf:

And some cool screen shots I took yesterday of her:

And since I have chronic start-itis:
Alayka, Human Mage:

That makes four new characters I have on the go. First one to 60 gets a door prize!
Oh - and watch for a new template. Cuz this one kind of bites. Just a little. Mr. I-T is already on it.

Meet the new characters
And so... meet my new characters:
Morganna (Undead Priest):

And Scott (Murlynn, Undead Warlock) and me together:

Shamue, Orish Shaman:

I will get images of my rogue in a couple of days.
Pam - I had a great time running around killing allies. Hee! I enjoy the PvP servers - it adds one more element to watch out for. Every once and a while I'll come accross and Allie who will take pity on me and not kill me (like last night, I was just outside Crossroads when 4 allies came up to me and killed my prey - and ran off. Whew!). But for the most part it is grand fun - and honour is at stake! Vebjorg managed 45 kills in Warsong Gulch. I made it up to Scout. I really miss playing her!

Update...
I got a new computer on Friday, and so I now have my own version of WoW. Until Blizzard figures out a way of letting me transfer my characters from my husband's account to my account, I am playing new characters. Sob!! I was really liking playing with Vebjorg, who is now 31st level.
And so Scott and I have been playing Alliance for a change. We have a pair of night elves, his a druid and mine... a rogue (you knew that was coming). Intro specs to come.
I have also created a new horde character to play with the existing characters Scott has. Shamue is my orc shaman, and I am enjoying her as well. She is up to 10th level. Again, intro specs to come.
We have created new undead on a new server as well - Morganna (my priest) and Murlynn (his warlock). How cliche, I know! I know we aren't the only ones out there with paired names - we saw a Docholiday and Wyaterp wandering around last night!

Everyone please welcome...
Vebjorg.

These stats aren't entirely accurate. I took the screen cap the other day, then I got her to 29th last night, and forgot to take another.
She is definately my favourite character. I just love playing a rogue, sneaking around an picking pockets. I have found her very effective against Allies, too. Against most enemies, really. Creating her as a troll gave me some unexpected benefits - her regeration and beserking gave me some wonderful advantages. Definately a great combination.
Today I plan to take her into Warsong Gulch - her first forray. We will see how much damage she can really do. My goal is 30 kills.
